Exploring the Koshiki Islands on a One-Day Bus Tour - Part 2

Best way to visit Koshiki Islands! Day trip bus tour

With the opening of the Koshiki Bridge, transportation between the Koshiki Islands has become more convenient. Driving enthusiasts flock to the islands to enjoy the newly connected routes, but if you don't have a driving permit in Japan, don't worry! Day-trip bus tours are also available. From the exclusive "Kanoko Lily Appreciation Tour" in July to the classic "Sightseeing Route", there are plenty of options to explore the islands. If you plan to visit, be sure to check out these sightseeing options!

Torinosuyama Observatory

Meeting again at the harbor after lunch, we continue our exploration of Koshiki Islands by heading towards Naka-Koshiki and Shimo-Koshiki. As we cross the longest bridge in the prefecture, Koshiki Ohashi Bridge, we reach the Torinosuyama Observatory. Climb up the stairs and prepare to be amazed by the stunning panoramic view that awaits you.

Yohagi Maruyama Park

Next on our itinerary, we make our way to Yohagi Maruyama Park to witness the beauty of the Kashima Cliffs. Though it requires a bit more effort to reach the observatory, the view of the stunning "Kashima Cliff" makes it all worth it! Dating back to the Cretaceous period, the oldest rocks on the island are estimated to be 80 million years old, making this natural wonder a sight of both beauty and scientific value. Take in the breathtaking panorama of the 200m-high cliff while basking in the soothing sound of the waves. Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience!

Koshiki Museum

*This location is only available on the April, May, and September tours.

A trip to the Koshiki Museum in Shimokoshiki is a must for dinosaur enthusiasts! This area is renowned for the discovery of rare dinosaur fossils, making it a popular destination. At the museum, visitors can see some of the fossils that were first discovered in Japan. It's a unique opportunity to learn more about the prehistoric creatures that once roamed the earth.

If you are looking for a must-see attraction in Shimokoshiki, then Seo Kannon Mitaki Falls should be on the top of your list. This magnificent waterfall stands at an impressive height of 55 meters, divided into three stages, and flows straight down. The lower level creates a curtain of water surrounded by the lush forest, making it a breathtaking sight to behold.

Nagahama Port

After a brief 10-minute car ride from Seo Kannon Mitaki Falls, we arrived at Nagahama Port, the last stop on our trip. If you're searching for the souvenirs exclusive to the island, the souvenir shop located at the port terminal is your final opportunity to acquire it!

Local beekeepers produce practical and eco-friendly beeswax wraps, which also make for perfect gifts for your family and friends.
