The doctor on the islands inspired the main character in the comic "Dr. Koto's Clinic"
The main character in Takatoshi Yamada's manga "Dr. Koto's Clinic" is based on a doctor from the clinic in Shimokoshiki Island. Although the comic was adapted into a TV series, it was not shot on Koshiki Islands.
One of the clinics on the islands was featured in the 2020 movie "Love and the Grand Tug-of-war" as the filming location for the heroine's office.
Large eels are a common on the island
