Old Masuda Residence

Content

Introduction

The old Masuda residence became a public facility of the Iriki Samurai Residences in 2013. The structures are in good condition, including the main building, the storage facility, the bathroom, and the toilet. The entrance has an "Ishigandou" established in the Meiji period (1873), therefore it is assumed that the main structure was also built at the same time. The storehouse, on the other hand, includes an inscription indicating that it was finished during the Taisho era. If you want to drive to the old Masuda mansion, use the parking lot of the city hall Iri branch office, and it is recommended to combine your visit with the nearby Iriki samurai residences and Kiyoshiki Castle ruins.

※Designated as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan in 2014.
