Introduction
Taki Onsen is around 12 kilometers from Satsumasendai City. It has a history of almost 800 years and was a favorite of Kagoshima's famous historical figure Saigo Takamori. This hot spring town has kept its nostalgic, retro, and friendly vibe to this day. This is by far the best option for enjoying hot springs in Satsumasendai city.
Taki Onsen is one of the most well-known hot springs in the prefecture and was selected one of Japan's top 100 hot springs. Summer highlights include the town's vintage architecture and tourists dressed in yukata. Several bamboo crafts are available in souvenir shops and are perfect for gifting as souvenirs.
