Iriki Samurai Resindences

Content

Introduction

The Iriki Fumoto region has gained national recognition for its preservation of ancient streets since medieval times. Visitors can experience the atmosphere of ancient times through the details of the ruins of "Kiyoshiki Castle," which was built by the powerful Satsuma Domain, the thatched gates of the samurai houses, the low circular stone walls, the moat in front of the Otemon Gate, and the horse farm. The former Masuda residence is the most well-preserved among them. Take a stroll in this historically rich place and immerse yourself in its unique charm!
